Partners' programme

On Thursday 5 June from 9.30am till 2.00pm, we will propose an exclusive cultural programme to your partners.

Immerse yourself in a unique artistic experience in the heart of the Lambinet Museum!

The mansion of the 18th century, the Lambinet Museum was built for a contractor of the buildings of Louis XV, Joseph-Barnabé Porchon. In 1929, the city of Versailles accepted Ms. Lambinet's legacy in order to install a museum that opened to the public in 1932. Benefiting from a transfer of Fine Arts collections from the municipal library and then gradually enriched, the Lambinet Museum became a true "Collector's Museum".

The establishment offers to see a great diversity of works of different techniques from the Renaissance in the middle of the twentieth century: paintings, sculptures, drawings, engravings, but also furniture and art objects. The art of living in Versailles in the eighteenth century, the history of the city of Versailles and especially the French Revolution are the main axes of this museum, which has been known as the "Musée de France" since 2004.

Artistic workshop

Accompanied by a passionate art teacher, budding artists are invited to take their creative look at the museum's majestic façade and flower garden. Using water colour, everyone can freely express their sensibility and interpretation of the place, playing with shades and light. This workshop is an ideal opportunity to discover or explore the technique of outdoor watercolour in a friendly atmosphere.

Come unleash your creativity and leave with your own colourful vision of the museum Lambinet!

Cultural programme

On Friday 6 June, a programme of optional cultural visits will be proposed from 9.00am to 1.00pm

Option 1: Private tour of the “Potager du Roi” and the temporary exhibition on climate.

Created in 1683 at the request of Louis XIV by Jean Baptiste de La Quintinie, the “Potager du Roi” is a remarkable garden classified as a historical monument. Its purpose was to supply the King’s table with fruits and vegetables of exceptional quality and rarity, and to offer a showcase of French agricultural know-how.

Le “Potager du Roi” presents a collection of more than 750 fruit and vegetable varieties, old and current, in a geometry characteristic of classic French gardens. Open to the sky, this green haven perpetuates the art of gardens and the unique know-how of the fruit-cut in an espalier.

In a second part of the morning, enjoy the temporary exhibition; "WE ... THE CLIMATE"

This temporary exhibition in the garden explores, like a laboratory, the multi-disciplinarity of professionals committed to climate challenges, from the landscaper to the ecologist, sociologist and climatologist.

How can we adapt our lifestyles, our landscapes, our ways of cultivating, developing or feeding to climate change?
